Some folks don't enjoy the maintenance side of straight razors and some do. I'm happy for the folks who are enjoying their shaves, whatever path they choose. It's all about finding the pleasures where otherwise the mundane chore of shaving would exist.
I avoided the straight razor rabbit hole for some time, thinking that the maintenance side of them was not for this guy..turns out that honing is relaxing for me..not so much in the beginning but there's the learning curve with most any worthwhile endeavor.
