Today:GD Preshave
A&E London Gin Club
Elite Tourmaline quartz 26mm with Elite HMW knot
Blackbird
Bic blade
(not pictured) Stirling Unscented AS
Excellent shave using the rescented London Gin Club. As I also posted in the "what soap I used today" posting, when Peter Charkalis released this soap about two months ago, he realized afterwords that the scent was somewhat weaker than he would prefer. So he offered anyone who had bought it the chance to return it for replacement with a stronger scented version. Good customer service; what we want from artisans. I received the original, tried it, and did find the scent somewhat weak. Sent it back and received the new version a few days ago. Much improved. Smells like juniper and - for me - does make me think of a nice gin drink. Not a strong scent but a different and pleasant one. And, like all the A&E Kaizen base soaps, gives a great shave. Or did so at least for me with what else I used. A good shave on a beautiful fall day.

SOTN - Mini-Monday
prep - shower with Caprina Fresh Goat’s Milk with Shea Butter bar soap
razor - Gillette Travel Tech, date code "O1"
blade - Shaverboy Super Stainless (11)
brush - Simpson Wee Scot
soap - LaToja
post - styptic pencil, warm water rinse, DSA “Pure & Natural” alum, cold water rinse
aftershave - Clubman Musk
music - art rock band "Everything, Everything" on CHMA-FM campus radio.
With the Zamak head and short aluminum handle, this is my least favourite DE razor. The head is okay but the short ultra-light handle makes it difficult to control the angle in all three axes.
I got one nick along my jaw that required some styptic pencil. Otherwise, a BBS.
More pix with the razor case here.
