SOTD 3.20.2020:
24-hours of stubble
Pre-Shave: Hot water splash followed by Grooming Dept. moisturizing pre-shave (Rainforest)
Blade: Feather Hi-stainless (1st use)
Razor: Carbon Shaving Co. Cx-316L/R2 Stainless (2nd use)
Soap: Fine Aquamarine (2nd use)
Brush: Rudy Vey M7 replica in faux ivory w/24mm 2-band badger(2nd use)
Post-shave: Fine Aquamarine Aftershave (2nd use)
Today, shaving was a way to take a brief respite from all that’s going on in the world. Slow and relaxing, which was a good approach when using a new Feather Blade in the Cx-316L, which has more blade feel than my other razors. The Rudy Vey M7 replica is very nice. I like a big knot, but the 24 on this handle has a great balance and holds plenty of lather. I got good lather from the Fine soap, but the slickness didn’t seem to be there. Maybe it’s my technique. Dunno. End result was very close and smooth with very slight weepers under lower lip (that is a trouble spot for me generally). The aftershave took care of them nicely. I was pleasantly surprised that I got away with two days in a row with the Cx-316L and a new Feather. I thought for sure the sharks would be circling when I was done. A welcome and pleasant distraction on a tough day in the world. Happy shaving and stay well all.
P.S., My oldest beagle turned 16 today. Go Hunter!
