Brush:- WCS Two-Tone Tall (Blue & White) Extra Dense Synth. 26/56mm knot
Soap/Cream:- Stirling ~ Baker Street
Razor/Blade:- Gillette US Red Tip / Vintage NOS Gillette Super Stainless (spoiler) #2
Post/After-shave:- T.N. Dickinson Witch Hazel Astringent mixed into the 240ml bottle with Natural Glycerin (20), Tea Tree Antiseptic (10) & Peppermint (10 drops)
Whisky:- Balvenie Doublewood 17yrs old

I will consider this reply on-point because you mentioned Balvenie in your post.  IMO a post-shave glass of whisky can be a fine finish to a luxurious shave, so FWIW I'm glad you mentioned it.  I have selfish reasons for replying too.  I drink the 14 year Balvenie Caribbean Cask, and there was a time when I mostly drank the 12 year old Doublewood.  Same for my wife.  Perchance can you compare the 17 year with the 14 or the 12?

The Doublewood 17 year old has a sweet dried fruit, toasted almonds and cinnamon, with a rich creamy toffee notes and traces of oak and deep vanilla. However I can only grab the after taste from the whisky I get which are vanilla oak, honey and spicy sweetness.

The Doublewood 12 year old has a very smooth and mellow flavour with nutty sweetness, cinnamon and sherry.

The Caribbean Cask 14 year old has a very nice vanilla and sweet oak. The best part I like about this whisky is the smell which are sweet creamy toffee.
