Aftershave: Grooming Dept. L'Avventura
After waiting patiently for a long time to get ahold of a matching bottle of aftershave, the time has finally come.
I present to you L'Avventura by Grooming Dept. It's a complex aroma of citrus, florals, resin, and saffron on a woody base.
I find this fragrance to be quite lovely and if you're curious the exact notes are lime, grapefruit, high-elevation lavender, galbanum, saffron, resin accord, texas cedarwood, oakmoss, birch tar, and patchouli. As you can see it's beautifully elaborate. I have to say it's executed very well also.
The soap base is the Kairos formulation and if you've ever used it before then you know just how good this soap base really is. This is an outstanding soap for wet shaving!
I whipped up some creamy, dense lather and did a three-pass shave. With the Ascension Select and this soap, I enjoyed every minute I had with them both.
I had a fantastic shave with the gear I chose today and ended this therapy session with some of the matching aftershave I waited so long for.
It was worth the wait. Grooming Dept. makes the most amazing products and this aftershave was no different. It has the most amazing ingredients including green tea extract, black algae extract, watermelon extract, and wakame extract just to name a few.
The fragrance and post-shave feel are both excellent in my opinion. I genuinely wish I had more Grooming Dept. gear in my wet-shaving arsenal.
Alright, my friends. That's it for today. Take care and enjoy your shaves.
