Single Edge Sunday shave...

Uber lather using Vi-John cream, Straight Razor Designs "Opus X" soap, and glycerin
Razorock boar
Crown King scuttle
GEM G Bar/ GEM Stainless PTFE
PAA "Cavendish" splash

I've used this soap before with less than satisfying results. Decent shave, but nothing in the way of residual slickness or post-shave "feel". It worked, but just barely. I'm not a big fan of creams, but I like to use them for mixing super and uber lathers, so I mixed this Vi-John, which I had not used before, with the Opus X and glycerin, and got a simply phenominal shave. Outstanding slickness, cushion, residual, and post-shave. Everything was fantastic. Sure, I probably could have gotten a similar experience with just the cream, but the fresh tobacco scent of the soap is good enough to make the uber mixture well worth the effort...

And both soap and cream were gifts, received about a month ago in a box full of goodies, so there is that as a bonus...

And the G Bar continues to provide excellent shaves, with no irritation. I think I might have to make Single Edge Sunday a regular thing...
