Displaced aggression can seem like a quick fix, but it will kill you in the end.
That’s a hard lesson for the individual who horrifyingly and unnecessarily brought an end to the watch of Officer Ronald Tarantino on 5/22/16. That person is now nothing but a name that will never be remembered.
Meanwhile, Officer Tarantino has been showered with tributes and memorials, and the rise of a cause. It serves as a wonderful example of how intent can have adverse effects.
Today, this tribute is not only for a quiet hero who’s forced silence shouts louder than any spoken words, but also for the support of a brotherhood who rises daily and is expected to protect and serve their community from the challenges of evil in its many faces.
Police and front line responders are firm believers and executors to the notion that the community is greater than service to oneself. We could all stand to take a dose of that medicine.
I know every time I see and use this soap, that thin blue line will remind me of the humility and love of community that we take for granted in those on the front lines. The quiet ones, who we count on and expect everything from.
I thank my great friend Ruds and also Bill from Murphy and McNeil for working together to craft a fitting tribute to this cause. Anger and evil will always be adversely effected and triumphed by the good.
