I'm not a pro. I just get lucky with a 4 year-old cell phone camera and a homemade light box: http://i.imgur.com/XBogZyQ.jpg
(I posted link instead of actual image as it's not relevant to the thread).
Brilliant! If there were ever an argument for the artist vs. the tools you have just made it Matt. Your images are always so on point I NEVER would have imagined they were a cell phone.
Thanks for sharing the behind the scenes and please do keep up the great work!
It was easy enough to guess that a light box was part of the setup, but a four-year-old cell phone camera … nice work! Thanks for the image and video links, Matt.
Before I even joined DFS, I had (basically) drooled at some of the amazing photography on here. Not saying there needs to be some SOTD “gold standard,” but — thanks for all the inspiration, everyone!

Razor: AlumiGoose 2 w/ iKon OSS Handle
Blade: Feather Professional (2)
Brush: Tres Amigos Desert Ironwood Honey Comb w/Envy White
Soap: Route 66 Perfect Storm
A/S: Myrsol Blue
The Perfect Storm is a new soap from Route 66. It has a brisk seas, rocky bluffs, damp earth and crisp, cool air just before the rain. A windward breeze carries green notes and soft florals of lily, jasmine, rose and violet over the sand. Earthy tones of sandalwood and cumaru seed balance this rich, coastal aroma. Long lasting, slick lather protective cushion and glide soothing post shave conditioning. I really enjoy using this soap. Finished with Myrsol Blue which I also like. Darn near BBS.

Thanks, semperfi 45 . I can appreciate a great SOTD pic, but when it accompanies a little insight on the product, I really enjoy it.

Fine. Done. I'm a sucker for lanolin. I picked up "A Perfect Gent" (soap & balm) because I'm also a sucker for labdanum. Like I needed another friggin' soap.
I do appreciate the heads up on the sale. A pretty good deal, and I like how they allow you to save a buck by bundling the matching balm with the soap.

I was so anticipating my shave yesterday morning. Monday afternoon, I had picked up a package from the Post Office on my way to work. The package contained a shiny new ATT Bamboo SE1. So, when I got home from work, I took a shower, loaded up the SE1 with a Feather AC Pro, and lathered up Savonnerie du Bon Berger Lavender Rosmary shaving soap with Romera Rustic Chubby. I then turned on the tap to rinse my hands and.....nothing. No water. (We have well water and the pressure tank had developed a leak.) I had just a little distilled water I poured in the stoppered sink, but needless to say, it ended up being a very hurried single pass WTG shave. Not what I had in mind. What a let down! I even had two days growth in anticipation of this shave. I still ended with a SAS.
On to the shave in the wee hours this morning. Same gear.
SOTD-15jun16:
Chatillon Lux Pre-Shave Butter
ATT Bamboo SE1 / Feather AC Pro
Romera Rustic Chubby
Savonnerie du Bon Berger Lavender Rosemary
Swiss Pitralon
I just went with a two pass WTG & XTG shave to ease in and get to know this razor. So far, I would echo what some others are saying: it seems like a very smooth, but efficient shaver. I'm probably going to stay with this razor for a few days anyway to get to know it better. I will say that I'm glad I stayed with the Bamboo handle. Nothing against the other handle offerings from ATT, but this handle is different than anything else I have and I think I really like it.

It’s often so easy to take for granted the one central element in this hobby of ours — water.
Glad everything turned out well in the end, Rob! Hope you have some great shaves with that fine-looking new SE.
