This was the first use of my One Blade Core and I have to admit to being surprisingly impressed.

Your lather is beautiful!  I recently noticed that Panna Crema gives instructions for lathering all its Nuàvia soaps.  To summarize:  Spread 3 grams of product in a bowl and add exactly 7 grams of water in two stages.  I'm plan to test lather that way tonight or tomorrow, but I am not banking on the 3 to 7 ratio to be the best for me and my water.

Did you lather that way, and did it work well for you?  --  Thanks.

Hi Mike!  Thanks!  Nope...I just scrap some off, smear it on the bottom of the huge singing bowl, and put 8-10 drops of distilled water on top of the soap while I am in the shower.  I know 8-10 drops, because I use a syringe now to add water.

After the shower, I just start lathering and I slowly add 1/2 tsp of water at a time...lather, add, lather, add, and so on and so forth until it is EXACTLY the consistency that I want it to be for shaving!

This technique, in my experience, has been working fabulously!  It allows me to more closely control the water so I can reach perfection.  This method takes a little bit more time and effort, but it’s worth it.

Please let us know how the recommended ratio works out!

Have a great weekend!

Outstanding!  Thanks very much Matt.  My approach is somewhat like yours.  Like you, I always add water in stages, and check the lather.  Whether face or bowl lathering, there is no substitute for checking the lather.  OTOH, I usually weigh the soap and most often skip the 8 - 10 drops or any sort of blooming.  I also don't use distilled water, although distilled water has been creeping closer and closer to the front of my radar.  At any rate, I'll report back after a few shaves, and I will gladly do as you do if that works best.

Thanks again.
