What a great shave!
I opted for my Kopparkant Plus today and paired it with a new Nacet blade. This combo serves me well and didn't fail me today.
The software... I mean the base is named Ultima. That pretty much says it all right there. I will say I found the lather to be very slick and one with legitimate residual slickness.
The scent is uplifting, sweet and somehow familiar to me. I can't place it but in time I'm sure it'll come to me. I just know I've smelled this before.
The Doughman knot really bloomed during this shave. The 26mm knot has some gelling to the tips that soften it but also a tiny bit of scritch to help with exfoliating. The density is high and the knot can splay if pushed. The knot is on the hungry side but overall it's a really good knot because it covers all bases well.
Like I said, what a great shave!
Prepare for mind control!
First shave with a vintage GEM razor (on loan from Dave in KY). This was a fun shave all the way around. The GEM Junior with fat handle was intuitive and produced a lovely tone of audible feedback. Overall fairly efficient. Although, I did meet some resistance ATG in the mustache area and BBS duration is on the lower end of the spectrum. Post application revealed a bit of feedback on the neckline but nothing dramatic. This shave also includes the debut of MacDuffs Black Rock. I plan a few more shaves before sharing thoughts on this scent, but so far very enjoyable.
Thanks again Dave in KY !
