Woof, rough shave. Cut myself twice...with a derby and de89. Derbies are controversial - my issue with them is an apparent lack of consistency. Some packs seem great - super smooth and sharp enough for the job, others...not so much (and actually even within a single pack). Like a box of chocolates, you never know what you’re gonna get.

Ahh good ol' Mots Français Prétentieux. I'm not a big fougere person but this is one of the few fougeres I actually really enjoy. YRP needs no introduction. One of the best fragrances on the market. The EdT is just straight heaven. This Bolzano blade has really surprised me. IIRC the first shave wasn't that great but since then this blade has provided some pretty effortlessly, smooth shaves.

Shave King Flubber Green 24mm Timberwolf synthetic brush, Sterling Iced Pineapple soap, Otto Deutsch Hans straight, Proraso green aftershave. Flubber is a portmanteau of "flying rubber," from the old Disney classic movie "The Absent Minded Professor."

Two passes and some touch up. Ok shave, but not outstanding. Still not happy with the Otto straight. It shaves, but should be sharper, like my other razors. Maybe it's a good candidate for my first try at honing?
