Like SharpSpine I too used Marco from Panna Crema's dry method of lathering. Very interesting and surprising-I'm looking forward to experimenting more with it.

I am still hung up on boots and bonnet.

Hey, Mickey, keep asking those questions because I learn from them, as well.  Big Grin

Okay, Freddy.

Freddy ( I am afraid to ask this ),  what is Spotted Dick?

Mickey, the first time I heard of this dish, while visiting my friend in Scotland, I could not hold a straight face. This will explain it better than I could: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spotted_dick.  I hope this helps. Winking

I combined Marco's "dry" method with Merkur Man's loading technique.  Driven by my black oxide BlackBird and 28mm EnvyWhite/Vladimir Ferdman brush; "polished" by the Small batch Shave Tonic. Result - another otherworldly experience.

A pudding you must most definitely try. Delicious, especially with custard, and does wonders for your cholesterol levels. Big Grin

I spent a good portion of the last couple days making and polishing another set of 1-piece scales, so I put my Saturday shave off until the polish was dry. Just after midnight the scales were ready, so I quickly pinned the blade in place, filed down the rough edges, stropped her up and had a shave.

The original scales for this blade were in decent shape, but I wanted to put her something a little nicer...

Chris,

With all the plastics and synthetic bones and parts of unfortunate animals, nothing approaches the beauty of wood.
Congratulations. You have made a real gem.
