(And thanks to HighSpeed too.)
Good to hear the power has been restored, John.
Thank you, Celestino. Since we had no Internet or TV and no light for reading or even playing cards during the blackout, my wife and I just sat and shared by candlelight our individual memories of favorite times, places, and people, something we seldom do during 'normal' times.
Simple things can be quite fulfilling. We should all do that, more often.
I am surprised we didn't feel the effects of the windstorm as strongly as Seattle.

Perhaps you should schedule a time on a routine basis in which you turn everything off and do just that.
SOTN - What, Thursday again already?
prep - shower with Caprina Fresh Goat’s Milk Original Formula bar soap
razor - British Flare-Tip Rocket
blade - Shaverboy Super Stainless (1)
brush - Fendrihan Classic Pure Grey Badger
soap - Stirling Noir
post - warm water rinse, DSA “Pure & Natural” alum, cold water rinse
aftershave - Proraso Blue balm + Jōvan Ginseng N•R•G Cologne - (Welcome to the '90s.)
music - some Surf Rock Radio during the shower, then old-time radio episode 1 of New Adventures of Nero Wolfe "Stamped For Murder"
It was nice to load up a brand-new Shaverboy blade. I used to push blades to 25-30 uses. Now I spoil myself by tossing them after 12 shaves.
BBS, of course.
Memo to self - It's difficult to follow a detective radio drama AND shave at the same time.

We could be Heroes, just for one day.

We've got a vintage one that has a double wick. It also provides a little bit of heat in the winter blackouts.
If I'm on my own, I have my Kobo e-reader, which can go days on a charge.
