Hello everyone! Hope you had a pleasant evening.

Great shave this morning. Went back to Saponificio Varesino and their "Cosmo" soap and ASL. This scent always struck me as ideal for cooler weather. Yes, there is some citrus off the top, but it's intermingled with a warm, slightly sweet & spicy note. All this is playing over a foundation of warm, earthy, woody notes. Wonderful lather built with the Riva Brushes Manchurian badger for two passes (+ touch up) with the Timeless Razor TRBR38 and I finished with the matching ASL & Dior "Sauvage" parfum.

I'm taking it that you're enjoying the Timeless 0.38 Bronze? It is a great razor and actually a beautiful work of art as well, it really is. I'm looking to pick up the 0.78 OC plate for it eventually. Not sure how I would like it or how it will compare to the 0.95 Ti that I have.

Mike, I've used all three Timeless razors and the 0.78 OC is the most aggressive. I found the teeth of the 0.78 bordering on the uncomfortable compared to the 0.95 with notably more blade feel. Shaving was on tenterhooks and not enjoyable for me. I've also used the Gen 1 CG Lvl3 known for its aggressiveness, but even that was more forgiving in comparison. If you do buy the 0.78 OC plate, take care.

Thanks for the info, I really do appreciate it! I have heard that this was supposed to be aggressive, but they didn't say that about the slim as well and a slim isn't too much for me. Though I will say I do have one OC for my Blackbird and that was one of the open comb that I've owned that was way too much for me. And for me, 0.95 Ti OC that I have was much smoother than I imagined it would've been for the gap. I guess this is just one of those examples where sometimes gap/exposure really isn't an indicator of how the razor may shave.

What can I say that hasn't already been said about (any/all of) Phoenix Shaving software? The quality of the fragrance and the resulting lather are world-class.

Doppelgänger Plum is a phenomenon scent. This makes sense when you know that it's an homage to a discontinued masterpiece, Plum Japonais by Tom Ford.

If you know me you know then you know I'm a sucker for cologne-type shaving gear. With notes of Cinnamon, Saffron, Japanese Plum, Plum Blossom, Immortelle, Liquor, Camellia, Cypress, Smokey Oud, Amber, Benzoin, Fir, and Vanilla you can see this is one is a complex and nuanced fragrance. Long story short is that's its freakin' awesome! This is a true banger!

The Ascension SELECT gave me a great shave. Seeing as I can adjust it with a simple twist. How could it not? It also looks great too. Especially with the Classic Phoenix Purple tip on the end. My favorite color I might add.

All in all, I was thoroughly pleased with this shave. All of the components came to and served me well. I highly recommend you pick up this software set or a razor while you're at it.

Mike, I, too, didn't find the SLIM aggressive. Completely the opposite and struggled to get a close shave.The Timeless 0.78 0C takes no prisoners. The Blackbird OC is more forgiving.

Super cross razor was the weapon of choice, sterling soaps haverford for suds and smells, and the rubab firefly and the ole Clydesdale shell for that glassy smooth draw while stropping!
