That "For Chicago" soap has an odd scent. I'm going to order a soap & aftershave bundle before I (or they) run out of it. The soap is their "Super Tallow" base, which is pretty nice for the price. Again, I scooped it out and smeared it around the bottom of the lather bowl.
That razor head is in better shape than it looks. I bought at a flea market with a bunch of other razors and parts. I didn't much care for the shaves from it before, but that was when I was using a short, skinny, light, aluminum "Soluna" handle. The balance is much better with the LC New ball-end handle, and the shave feels much like the LC New.
I'm contemplating buffing the cap and visible parts of the base plate down to bare brass.
In the end got a BBS+, and now I'm relaxing, enjoying my surrounding cloud of Reuzel fumes.
