I admit that I am nothing more than a casual point-and-shoot photographer.  However, every once in a while, I take a snapshot or two that I find pleasing.  I went to Washington, D.C. for a short vacation in March of 2011 and completely lucked out with the weather and the cherry blossoms being in bloom.  These two photographs I thought came out pretty decently for an attempt at flower photography.

2 photos that I took years ago.

The first is of Smalls Falls here in Maine.

It's a very cold swim even in the hottest part of the summer.

The 2nd is of a Clevia plant in our family room. I liked the way the light was coming in through the window and thought it might be interesting captured in infra-red. It took an honorable mention in a Maine comp'. I have one framed on a wall and I still haven't tired of seeing the ghostly image.
