Soaps that burn your face!

Unfortunately for me, too many. Here's just a sampler:

- All Catie's Bubbles soaps I've tried - LPV, QCV, Puple Grapefruit
- Both Tiki soaps I've tried - Land Locked, Pumpkin Lager
- Razorock Don Marco
- Stirling Sharp Dressed Man
- Strop Shoppe Russian Tea (a real bummer because this was one of my fave all-time scents)

If two soaps from a given brand burn, I ditch the brand. I took a risk on QCV, hoping it would be okay b/c of the unique scent profile but it burned. It's a great soap, it just doesn't agree with my skin. I lost far too much money on burners and am happy I found a few artisans which I've become loyal to - Barrister_N_Mann, Soap Commander and Saponificio Varesino. Every soap from these 3 has been great to my skin, with phenomenal performance and great scent to boot. I"m over the novelty of sampling now and much prefer a consistently fantastic shave. 3 brands, 4 soaps in my rotation and I couldn't be happier. Of course, YMMV

The only two soaps that have burnt my face (LPV and SDM) are both on your list.  Maybe our skin is similar and I should stay away from the rest on your list. It is unfortunate because both of them are incredible scents.

I wouldn't want to discourage anyone from trying any specific products. It could be that my skin is just ultra sensitive. You might be pleasantly surprised. 
I tried sending some emails to determine the commonalities between the soaps on my list and, as you may expect, I didn't get a ton of information b/c artisans don't want to give away their formulas and i can completely respect that. What I was able to deduce however is the following:

1. I tend to be much more sensitive to fragrance oils than essential oils.
2. Statement one is completely irrelevant if it's grapefruit or orange. My skin hates anything with either. Surprisingly, lime, which i would also consider an "acidic" fruity scent is perfectly fine.
3. It's either clove or cinnamon that also give me a bad reaction but it seems to be dependent on the quantity used in the soap because Stirling's Bay Rum, to my surprise, was perfectly okay.

On another note, LPV and SDM are different from each other and also considerably different from the rest on my list. If you have no limitations that prevent you from trying then there's no harm done. Of course if you can get samples, even better. Unfortunately, every soap on that list is now gone except QCV which I'm planning to sell as part of a lot.

I get a slight tingle of Catie's Bubbles LPV on the second pass, so nothing harmful to my skin. Must be an essential oil in high proportion that irritates skin.

The following soaps burn my face:
stirling (due to almond oil)
Cella ( due to almond oil)
vintage art of shaving tallow
L.A shaving soap
Maggard london barbershop

This is definetly a YMMV situation. I want to like Arko and Fume, both from Turkey.. Like the scents, get great lathers from them and face burn. To bad, just can't use them. Drat!

Ignite- Neroli (bitter orange smell)
Gave me the burn. Lovely smelling soap.
Much like Razorock Don Marco which I love and had no issues with

That's interesting.  PAAs Neroli and Tiki Landlocked (Orange pepper) burns my face like crazy.  It is so unfortunately because those soaps are incredible.

The blades grim sinnimint and razorock don marco burned so bad all I could think about was getting them off me. I have no desire to ever try another soap that is cinnamon or orange scented.

Soap Commander endurance and Cella gave me a hives type reaction.

WSP gaelic tweed, strop shoppe barbershop, and maggard london barbershop all make me itch, no hives or blotches just itching.

I've had great results with other scents from most of these companies, but these scents just don't work well on my skin.

I've been lucky. I had a couple of scents from Mama Bear that didn't agree with me, and one that I really liked but made me sneeze all day.

Spencer & Devon Spice gave me a bit of tingle on first use, but after two times it never came back.

As a soaper, the most common complaint I've gotten is about the original Blood Orange and Cinnamon Bun. Which are both discontinued so that's nice.

The only soap I've had an issue with was Seifenglatt Teak/Cade/Sandalwood. I know sandalwood is often a culprit, but I've used other sandalwood products with no problem.
