Ok, let's get this moving. My apologies for the delay. We'll start off with some general information. I'll take any questions you guys have and then I'll post a sign up sheet.

Some general rules and information.

So this is a soap sample passaround. You can sign up and the box will travel from person to person so that you can smell, test lather and shave with any of the soaps in the box. There will be soaps from many of the top vendors. Probably well over 100 soaps to try. You'll have the box for a week to maybe ten days after which you'll send it to the next person on the list. You'll need to agree to post reviews of the soaps that you try in this thread for others to comment on and enjoy. There are some general rules and guidelines below that you're expected to read before signing up. Please read through them and let me know if you have any questions. I'll post a sign up sheet shortly.

You'll need 100 posts and three months on the forum in order to participate. These requirements are for when your turn comes up so you'll need to meet them by then. I intend on doing this passaround for as long as there's interest so no worries if you don't qualify this round.

1. The most important rule here it honesty. Reviews have to be honest and respectful. In most cases the soaps in the box were donated by the vendors but that doesn't mean that you're going to like everything. After all we won't all like the same things. So please provide honest reviews and if you don't care for a soap please say so in a nice way. Someone else might absolutely love it.

If you like a soap in the box please feel free to let the vendor know. They donate soaps to these passarounds as there is really no way for most artisans to advertise. So letting them know that you found them here it helpful to them and to all of us.

2. You'll provide your email address, phone number and address via a PM. I won't be calling or emailing you using your personal information unless there's an absolute need to do so. I won't be sharing this information with anyone and I'll delete it after your turn with the box is through.

3. To sign up you'll pick a spot on the list and repost the entire list with your name in the spot you picked, taking care to keep all of the other names intact. Please make sure not to eliminate anyone else in doing so. Please look at the list closely before and after you've reposted it to make sure that nobody was accidentially bumped off.

4. You'll have the box for about a week to a max of ten days to give you time to get it mailed to the next person. During this time you are free to smell, shave with or test lather any soap in the box.

5. You agree to post reviews (with pictures) or the items that you try. This is the fun part for everyone waiting patiently. Please have fun with this part and post some information that'll be useful and interesting to everyone. You are welcome to post a review of any soap whether it's in the box or not in this thread. Feel free to jump in and have fun with it.

6. You are responsible for the shipping costs to the person after you. The box will be a USPS flat rate box and shipping will be on or around the $20 mark. The box will come with $50 insurace automatically. You are not responsible for any insurance beyond that. If the box is a bit damaged at any time please feel free to replace it with another of the same kind. These flat rate boxes are available at any US Post office for free. If the box is lost the insurance proceeds are used to purchase more sample containers and labels.

7. When you send the box to the next participant in the passaround you will have nothing from the box in your possession. This isn't a soap grab so please don't keep any soap that you don't use up during your time with the box.

8. You'll need to reach out to the person after you on the list when your turn starts. We'll need to make sure that they are still active and in good standing on the forum. You'll ensure that they are in good standing but you'll check with me before sending the box.

9. Please do not lather the soaps on the sample containers. They are way too small for this and it's much more sanitary for you to lather the soaps in a separate bowl. The plastic salsa bowls from any Dollar store work great. Please remove the soap that you use for your shaves (in a sanitary way). Maybe a spoon or some other item that would work well for this purpose. Make sure the soaps are clean and in good shape when you send them on to the next person.

10. As far as adding anything to the passaround goes. You are allowed to add soap samples. So if you see a vendor in the box and you have a scent that's not already there you can feel free to add a clean sample if you'd like. This is not necessary at all, nor is it expected. Please refrain from adding razors, brushes, blades, aftershaves or any other item to the boxes that isn't soap.

11. I have the right to change this or add any additional rules at any time. Basically it's all common sense. Enjoy the box but do so in a way that's considerate and kind to those after you.

If I've overstepped or broken any forum rules here please let me know and I'll make some adjustments. It's mostly just common sense. Please employ common sense and be considerate to those after you. You're agreeing to post in this thread so take some responsibility to make this enjoyable for yourself and everyone else involved. I spend money to make this happen and I enjoy doing this when it runs smoothly as it should. We're all adults here so please don't make me babysit this as I'd like to keep this going for a long, long time so that everyone can enjoy it. If everyone does what they're supposed to do then it's easy and enjoyable for everyone.

Thank you very much for doing this dfoulk! I am going to pass - I own enough soap to sink a battleship - but even so, I look forward to hearing what other members have to say.

I'm in the same boat!

With the amount of soap in the box, I'm sure there will be soap brands that I already own. But I'm hoping there will be scents from those brands that I be able to "test". In those instances, I will already know the performance of the brand but will be able to make a much better determination of whether I "need" to purchase other scents. Just as an example...I really love B&M's new base but, based on the description, I'm not sure I will enjoy the scent of Diamond.
