I'd like to see more soaps that don't get a lot of attention here on DFS. Seems redundant to pass around the same old hyped stuff. A box of European soaps and creams would be killer. You should consider getting CRSW to participate. I thought they were a DFS Merchant but it looks like I was wrong about that. Maybe they were at some time?

Photos of Siliski and Oleo soaps will be added soon after the Oleo soaps are in my possession. The tracking number says they should arrive tomorrow. Siliski donated just about their entire line so I'm excited to include these.

The passaround on the other forum is on the last box and the last participant before it gets sent back to me to be restocked. I'm still getting some soaps in that'll be used for both that passaround as well as the one on this forum. I'll be filling containers for both passarounds very soon and I hope to get them moving in the next few weeks. Please be patient as it takes some work to get something like this up and running. My wife would love these boxes to be out of our house so know that she's motivating me as well.

With this one I'm going to focus on some really exceptional soaps for you guys to try. A mixture of some of the very best soaps (from what I already have on hand) as well as any new vendors that are added as a result of this thread. It should be a pretty impressive selection or soaps. I'll try to include some from other parts of the world as well because it's fun to try something you might not have discovered yet.

If you guys want to try anything in particular please do let me know. I don't have every vendor in existence participating in the passarounds but I do have quite a few. At this point I think I've probably reached out to most of the highly regarded vendors out there (sorry if I missed anyone). I am willing to invite a new vendor to participate if I haven't done so already so just let me know if there's something that is well thought of that you'd like to try.

It's not really a question of being redundant. With the other passaround it's four boxes with around 100 to maybe 125 soaps in each box. It can be a bit overwhelming to some people if anything. Many guys have done the passaround two and three times in an effort to try everything that they can. So I don't think it'll be a boring box (or maybe two). The shear number of soaps to try seems to rid us of that problem. Even when you encounter a vendor that you're familiar with it's pretty cool to get to smell many of the different scents that you might not have experienced before.

I've contacted just about every vendor at one time or another and I'd say between 80 to 90% are really excited to be involved in this. When I do get a no response it's usually from a smaller part time vendor that can't keep up with demand and doesn't want any more exposure. Most that have participated have been very generous. So not really a question of the same soaps being passed around as I likely have just about everything here to pick from. I do have some of the Cold River Soap Works soaps on hand as well as some others that you're likely not as familiar with. I'll do my best to make it a nice mix of soaps that'll interest everybody.

One area that I often struggle with is whether to include the unobtainium soaps or not. It's cool for guys to get to try them but letting them try something that they can't attain, or will have a ton of difficulty attaining at best, can be frustrating. I'm open to thoughts on this as well.

That does sound like a lot of work for sure.
That's a good question about whether to include unobtainable or not. And I'm sure everybody's got their own thoughts and opinions about that one. As for myself, I'd say it's good either way, I guess if a person knew that it was pretty much on the unobtainable end of things, each person could judge whether they wanted to spend their time on that one or not.
Anyway I'm hanging in here like a hair in a biscuit, I hope nobody's eating biscuits why they read this.

It's nice to get some new additions but you guys have no idea what I already have on hand from the other passaround.

At some point I'll have to pull everything out and stack it all on the kitchen table so that I can take some pics to share.

Yes, we really don't know. I follow the other passaround, but didn't know if this will be the same soap for soap or close.
