Soap maintenance?

Yeah, I remember when Chris Moss a doctor in Tatamagouche, Nova Scotia on shavemyface told us years ago not to worry about it as the levels are so low. The only thing I avoided were those overly colored English creams many of us don't use anymore. Always found those irritating.

Some of those were turning expensive badger brushes pink and purple.

I never tried one, they looked gross.

All evidence has been buried. All tapes have been erased.

I leave my soap open until I finish shave and clean up then I put the lid on and under the sink it goes until the next shave

   I follow the same protocol except that I leave it on top of the sink! Never had a problem yet.

I've been doing this for years, as well. No problems whatsoever.

I was just wondering how the people around here handle their shaving soaps. Do you keep them open after use to air-dry? you put the lid back right after the shave? Does it matter for hard/soft soaps?

Really interested to hear about your routine.

I wash out remaining lather first,then air dry the soap and put the lid back on later.

+1 (Lid replaced 24 hrs later)

I'm like a few others who posted in this thread. I'll leave the lid off until my shave is done. after the shave, I'll clean up the shaving container if there was any spillage, put the lid on and put it away in my drawer.

That's my routine. washout remaining lather and dry outside container and let soap dry for a few hours then put lid back on..

Here as well. Leave any residual proto lather in the tub, air it out while finishing my morning routine. Return lid, wipe outside of tub the put away. I have a wooden tray on the bathroom counter that I keep a week's worth of soaps in and usually return here. Occasionally I pull something from the cabinet, if so return there and call it good.
