Hi Everyone,

Need to find a travel aftershave balm.  Something without an overpowering scent and some skin benefits.  Can’t be a lotion and prefer it in a tube.

For years used Loccitaine but really dislike the scent.  I never tried Cerdat scent, was afraid it might be very cologne-based.

Any ideas?  Really prefer a 1 Oz tube, something that can’t spill.  No pumps, they leak on airplanes after a while.

I rarely use an aftreshave balm as the shaving soaps I use as soo good that they provide sufficient skin moisturizing and conditions in all but the most extreme conditions.

Some of the top artisan soap manufacturers also produce shave balms. Altrhuogh I have not tried all the shave balms, I know from my experience with their soaps that the balms are likely to be good as well.

Here are some you might want to check out:
Ariana and Evans
Barrister and Mann
Gentleman's Nod
Grooming Dept/Aion Skincare
House of Mammoth
Murphy & McNeil
Nobel Otter
Zingari Man
Wholly Kaw

If you are looking for an inexpensive, unscented shave balm, pick up a bottle of Nivea from your local pharmacy.

Good advice Ray

I used to love the Loccitane ASB, tube and density of the balm. Like you not a fan of scent on Cade - they reformulated as well.

One suggestion, tube and balm density there is one solid choice. Tabac. Just depends on where you sit on scent.

Another favorite of mine, and flies under the radar is Embryolisse, tubed balm - essentially unscented. Great stuff. [Image: bb8d439ee7b6cc32aeb95673329e193d.jpg]

I've seen small travel-sized tubes from Proraso, Nivea and Art of Shaving. But otherwise, could you squeeze some of your balm of choice out into a small container like soap samples come in? Not completely optimal as you're then scooping out a small bit from there to use rather than squeezing it out, but would give you more optionality of what you can bring.
My wife also gets these sets of travel-sized squeezable "pouches" that she uses to bring face wash etc on trips, I think they're larger than 1oz but you might be able to find one in the size you're looking for and could squeeze a travel-sized amount of your balm of choice into that to bring.

Saw these browsing Pasteur's site, but they currently only have the Vetyver Splash in stock.

I might be a little scared of scent strength but I bet they are a good product.  Will pick one up with my next Pasteur’s order.

Hi Ray, any Nivea you would recommend?  I have some more travel coming up and would like to get one. Don’t put any time into it, was just curious.

Thanks

Hi Mike

The one I have used is Nivea Sensitive Soothing Post Shave Balm. It contains zero alcohol and it is unscented, so it can be used with any soap or aftershave fragrance.
I only use it in extremely cold or dry conditions. If I lived in Phoenix (hot and dry) or Anchorage (cold), I would be using it frequently. You should be able to purchase it at Walmart, Target, Walgreens, etc.

I've been looking for the same thing, a balm for travel. Just bought a tube of Captain Fawcett Expedition Reserve Post Balm. I also bought a tube of the Captain Fawcett Expedition Reserve Shaving Cream. Although both are a little large, they seem like a good pair for travel. Murphy and McNeil has both in stock.
