Creams seem to have fallen by the wayside in the zeitgeist of late, but I've been really digging mine. My current top performer, believe it or not, is Nivea Sensitive. Stuff is just unbelievably slick.

So tell us: What are your slickest, most protective creams?

XPEC is one of the slickest products I've used and definitely the slickest cream. It is also my favorite cream. Edited: I thought it was similar to Solarion but did a smell test just now and they aren't really similar at all. Not sure why I thought they were.

Interesting. I had the opportunity to smell it in Pasteur this weekend and found that it had a distinct orange blossom component (not present in Solarion, but very much present in Rhapsody). However, there was some unidentifiable scent that did not appeal to me, so I ended up purchasing the unscented version. As I have not yet returned home and didn't bring a brush that I would consider up to the task, I have yet to try it. Very much looking forward to the experience, though.

I get a good amount of slickness with most creams. One lesser heard of cream that delivers is Gentleman's Hanger available on Amazon.

I just smelled both and I don't know what I was thinking because they actually don't smell similar but I am always reminded of Solarion when I save with XPEC for some reason, which isn't very often these days. I had my wife smell them and she said XPEC smelled like pee and did not like it at all...lol. She liked your Solarion very much. Btw, Solarion is one of my favorite scents, and XPEC isn't in my permanent rotation anymore because I went all tallow so I should have compared them before writing that post, but I truly thought that at one time. Regardless of the scent on XPEC, the performance is excellent and I look forward to hearing your thoughts.

XPEC scent profile:
The scent is described as, "... a warm and sensual blend, featuring top notes of Tuberose and Thyme interwoven with Ginger, Pepper and Fennel oils, and the richness of Cedar and Oakmoss."

I have Gentleman's Hangar Sandalwood. I think that's the only scent. That was my first ever cream purchase when starting DE shaving.

Right now I'd say Tabula Rasa and Santa Maria Novella are right up there for slickness, though I'm also impressed with TOBS Peppermint in that regard. I haven't used Speick or Musgo Real cream in a little while, but remember them being pretty satisfyingly slick. I agree, though, Will: creams aren't as much in the spotlight right now even though some of them are among the most luxurious shave products out there.

David : DE shaving since Nov 2014. Nowadays giving in to the single-edge siren call.

They don't make it anymore but I'd say Sir Irisch Moos that stuff almost lathers itself and super slick. I haven't tried it yet but I bet the Penhaligon's B&B cream I just got is slick.

I also thought EJ limes and pomegranate was pretty slick.

I agree with you on Tabula Rasa but it's considered a shave soap although I find it to be softer than a lot of creams. Great stuff regardless. I have the Steampunk scent.

In my case, the slickest cream that I have tried is the Acqua di Parma (new unscented version). Very very slick.
