Ive been using a https://www.theinkeylist.com regimen for the past couple of weeks - I went to check on the products that BPman  recommended and figured what the heck.  I used The Ordinary regimen for a few months and it was pretty good but there were some issues around certain aspects so I thought I'd change things up a bit.  There are more steps involved in theinkeylist regimen than the Ordinary but its not that big a deal.  A bit more money for more products.  There is no doubt that my face feels more moisturized using these various products compared to just using cleanser although I don't think the age lines are going away  Big Grin  they only say they will reduce the appearance off lines not the actual lines themselves.  I guess I shouldn't have squinted and smiled and frowned so much for the last 61 years.  Darn

For me, a more formal skin care regimen is just a logical extension of the self care aspect of traditional wet shaving - be kind to yourself and take care of the face that you present to yourself and the world every day.  Take care of your body by being mindful of what you put into it and what you do with it.  Take care of your mind by being grateful for all that you've been given and attending to those matters where we may be carrying some baggage from past experiences so that maybe we can accept that we don't have to carry some of those burdens anymore.

FWIW, L'Oreal bought The Ordinary a year or so back.

I was aware of that. Apparently the founder of the company had some issues too but I figure I’ll judge the products on their merit and how they work for me.

I’ve noticed with a lot of skincare products and fancy facial “cleansers” that they’ll work great for a while and then they don’t. I don’t know what’s up with that but I keep looking for the right stuff. Don’t get me wrong, The Ordinary products are very good IMO but I wanted to try the inkey stuff. I’ll probably wind up following a hybrid regimen of products from different manufacturers that work for me.

Huh  Explain, please.

What will happen is I’ll get improvement of problem areas for a while and then the problem will re-emerge. One of my problem areas is across the bridge of my nose and down the sides where the nose contours under the eye area extending downwards. I’ll get Oily sebaceous bumps. I use a CPAP for the apnea and the nasal mask makes contact all along that area so that likely contributes to the problem. Do the new product/regimen will clear that up for a while but then after a few weeks to months, it will come back. That’s what happened with the ordinary. The inkey product is in the clearing it up phase right now. Maybe it will stick. We’ll see. I remain hopeful.

The CPAP is a bit of a pain because of comfort issues, mask contact issues as well as leakage and then there’s the sleep position. Lying flat on my back dead guy in a casket style is best for minimizing air leakage but try sleeping like that all night every night. You have to move to stay comfortable and joint/back pain free, or at least minimal.  As they say, if it’s not one thing it’s another but I’m not going to go quietly into that good night. Rage.

I know Derms were recommending salicylic acid toner for those who were/are getting "maskne" from the pandemic.

I’ll give that a try.
