it's definitely an interesting concept, if it can be refined enough to work as efficiently as a regular razor.  from the demo video, if it cuts facial hair as slow as it did with his arm hair - hair that probably isn't anywhere near as densely packed in as facial hair - it'll take 2 hours to shave.

More like two years and by then you'd still end up with a beard bigger and bushier than what those men on the video are sporting.  (See, they do use their own product. Tongue )

I just think it's crazy that they're wanting to produce a razor that'll more than likely be used to shave facial hair a majority of the time without providing a real shaving demo on their face.

Which, I think, is the reason so many men are disbelieving. Mind you, $4,000,000 initially. Right now I want to see something way more substantial before I think this thing will come to fruition as a practical razor.

Now that they're raising money and get to keep it whether they ever make anything tells me more than ever not to walk away, but to run away.

I absolutely agree, Brian. If it turns out to be the next big thing, I can always purchase it then.

Good point, Freddy! It's cutting, but at a slower rate than it's growing. Dodgy

Considering how well known the various color lasers are for their cutting abilities, I'd be very surprised if the heavy hitters in the shaving business haven't already evaluated them for possible shaving applications. The fact that there's nothing in the pipeline from them, so far, is rather telling.

But, the possibility of intentionally burying the concept from sight to protect the continued use of high profit consumables has to be considered, I guess.

If there's a way to make it work, I suppose Google has a team working on it. That would be the patent to end all patents.

I wonder if one of the larger razor companies (gillete, schick, etc.) sent a message to kickstarter to complain about skarp not having a working prototype, or if kickstarter has an automatic audit system set up so that once the fundraising hits X amount of dollars, the campaign is gone through again by a kickstarter employee.

andrewjs18, that's an interesting thought. If nothing else, the buzz these men have created is phenomenal.

No matter what investing in a company is always risky. I wish the investors all the luck in the world.
