I've been spending more time at my computer now while avoiding contact with other people, and I can feel the strain in my back, where I've had disk problems and surgery. I have a good office chair with an added lumbar support cushion, but my chiropractor previously had also recommend that I use a standing desk. I have tried putting my all-in-one monitor and keyboard on a relatively sturdy rectangular plastic tub that raises them about 16 inches, and I have found that I do OK with that setup for awhile. But then I feel like sitting down for awhile, and it is really a chore to take the stuff off the tub and put it back on the real desk. After researching online, I think that one of the gas-spring adjustable desk converter stands (ranging in price from about $100 to $200 for what I would want) might work well for me, allowing me to alternate between sitting and standing with a simple height conversion of the stand. But I am not sure if it is worth the cost.
Any of you who have tried the converter stands, please let me know your experiences and recommendations. Thanks.
