I've been spending more time at my computer now while avoiding contact with other people, and I can feel the strain in my back, where I've had disk problems and surgery.  I have a good office chair with an added lumbar support cushion, but my chiropractor previously had also recommend that I use a standing desk.  I have tried putting my all-in-one monitor and keyboard on a relatively sturdy rectangular plastic tub that raises them about 16 inches, and I have found that I do OK with that setup for awhile.  But then I feel like sitting down for awhile, and it is really a chore to take the stuff off the tub and put it back on the real desk.  After researching online, I think that one of the gas-spring adjustable desk converter stands (ranging in price from about $100 to $200 for what I would want) might work well for me, allowing me to alternate between sitting and standing with a simple height conversion of the stand.  But I am not sure if it is worth the cost.

Any of you who have tried the converter stands, please let me know your experiences and recommendations.  Thanks.

I can’t comment specifically about the desktop versions as my desks are both entirely height adjustable. But I can say that I recommend a version that is electronically operated or otherwise extremely easy to move. Generally I’m one to cheap out on features like that, but now that I have them I realize how often I adjust them and I know I wouldn’t do it manually as often.

Thanks, Shane. I think that if I end up getting one, it will be one of the easily-chanaged gas pneumatic-spring types.

That looks like it would be good for raising a laptop up for Zoom meetings.
It would raise the built-in camera up to eye-level so that the other folks aren't looking up your nose.
