I love my French press, but I also love my bonivita pour over dripper. It's different than others pour overs in that like a French press, the grinds steep for whatever time you like, then you drain the water off. I like the filter, so it gives me the best of both a French press and a pour over.

To do a method such as this, you need a good electric kettle and this is the one I use, it's a highly reviewed and widely used kettle,

Finally, because I'm a one cup at a time person, I hand grind my beans for each cup. I've been using this grinder for over a year and it's a highly quality machine.

YMMV.

YMMV.

I'd like to provide my experience with the Bonavita electric kettle. I think it is almost excellent - heats fairly quick, dial in exact temps, holds temp, and excellent pouring. The only negative is that it rusts near the top lip of the kettle and the lid where the two come in contact. Bad enough for rust pieces to fall into the water. They sent me a replacement for free and it has the same issue. I just ordered an OXO variable temp gooseneck kettle yesterday. I hope it's as good or better then the Bonavita w/o the rusting.

Ah thank you, I'll keep an eye out for that. I haven't seen any rusting yet. It's been a couple of years.

I have the same kettle and love it. I’ve  read scattered reports of rusting as well, but mine has worked flawlessly for a couple of years.  I always empty it out and leave the top off so it dries completely – no chance of rusting that way.
