Glad the Ehsan was mentioned. This brush always seemed to strike me as having the same characteristics as the acclaimed 2-band batch, but my brush I'm pretty sure was released in 2009.

Simpson had different suppliers of 2 Band hair prior to consolidating into one in 2011. Hence, the Ehsan could very well have similar hair.
Great brush... Never had one...

That clears up a mystery for me. I have another 2-band from 2009 that has very different characteristics. Tips are not as white, and the face feel is much scrubbier. This could have come from one of the other suppliers.
