I recently picked up this razor on Etsy. I was pretty impressed with how comfortable of a shave it provided while not really sacrificing any efficiency. All in all a great shave for an aluminum razor.

I picked one up too Justin.  Manufacturing was spot on and so was the turbo fast shipping.  I wonder if Bob has a 3D printer and/or if he would do one in Ti?

I liked the angle of the blade set in the razor……..at about 30’

When I first put a blade in and saw the gap; I was like “ok this is NOT a razor for me.”  It LOOKED aggressive.  Not at all, super mild.  Like all new razors I use a FEATHER to know where I’m at and where I need to be.  Zero weepers which is rare for me on a NEW Feather.  I use a Feather 3x…. Shave 2 and 3 are always great for ME with that blade. I’m a wasteful person, I only use blades 2x, except a Feather at 3x

The SCS Razor had me fooled the first few strokes.  I couldn’t “feel” if it was cutting? I had to rinse my face of lather (I shave in the shower 99% of the time, I’m too lazy and hurried to stand in front of a sink) and reapply a lite coating on my 4 day high school whisker growth.  Yes it was cutting.  I’m a 2 pass on most of my razors… second pass being detail.  Not in this this case, SCS was 2 pass AND some detail.  Maybe I was being cautious with a NEW instrument AND a Feather blade, idk?

EFFICIENCY:

For now, on a scale of 1-10 with 10 being hyper-efficient for “ME” I’m setting the efficiency rank at 4. I will revisit this in a few weeks and update, but that’s where I’m at.  This is not a negative, the shave is smooth as silk, it just takes more effort to get your face “smooth as a baby’s arse.”

To give the reader an idea of what a 4 is in MY book regarding efficiency:

Blackbird SB: 8-9
Mühle R41: 10
iKon ShaveCraft Tech: 9
Wolfman WR1 .54 DC: 7-8
Wolfman WR1 .80 DC: 9
CG G2 L2 DC: 8-9
CG G1 L1 DC: 6-7
Weber PH: 6-7
BBS1: 8
Colonial Brass General: 8
Timeless Ti Slim: 6-7
Wolfman WR2 1.00 SB: 7
Wolfman WR2 1.25 DC: 8-9
Lambda Athena: 6-7
Timeless Aluminum: 5-6
Above The Tie R1: 6-7
Above The Tie M1: 7-8
Above The Tie S1: 8-9

Overall, it’s a great little aluminum razor pp at $44 USD shipped conus.  I enjoyed using it and will speed shave with it again this Friday am.  The KEY POINT with this razor for me was a “lite application of lather.”

Cheers

Thanks, it does not appear when I search and when I visit your link I can see the listing but get this message:
"Sorry, this item doesn’t deliver to United Kingdom."

I have contacted the seller as it looks very interesting.

I noticed that the item description said it has a negative blade exposure, but it's good to know that it still gets the job done well. I can imagine that and the light weight of the razor making a shaver to want to add a little more pressure unnecessarily
I like the look of the handle, it's pretty cool. Almost like a nice pen with it's cap on.
