Timwcic what a great find! I even like the hammer! Something I noticed in the photos were the jimps on the “For Barbers Use” W&B. I have minimal knowledge of Straight Razors, but I don’t ever recall seeing jimps on one of these before, very cool. Also, are you going to clean them up yourself or are you going to send them to someone to refurbish? Enjoy!

I have several W&B with upper and lower jimps but I have never noticed them on a FBU. They are not cut in very deep. Possibly done by a owner???. I am going to work on them myself after giving them some thought in what direction to go. Full restore or gentle cleanup, I I'll ponder for some time as they sit on my work bench

Nice pair there!

The brass hammer will work on nickel silver (NiAg) pins; nickle silver is just brass with enough tin added to make it silver. I use a similar brass hammer all the time.

Cheers, Steve

My two.The Fili was a fleabay buy and already had the small crack in the wedge end,the blade in immaculate condition. The Bengall another fleabay find and all it needed was a quick polish.I sent that off to get honed when I first got it,now I run both over a piece of leather I glued to a piece of granite I cut from a broken cabinet top.I pasted it with 0.5 micron diamond and use that after every two shaves before stropping.
I much prefer the Bengall, and am retiring the Fili as it just does not feel right for me.It shaves ok but I just have not been able to actually like it or enjoy the shaves with it.

So I've been on a bit of a straight razor buying spree lately.

I have a few more but I sent them out to someone and have to take and retake photos for a few razors.

Thanks I haven't been using straights that long but have enjoyed them a lot. The Ali's Blade is probably my favorite shaver so far and the Osiris ones are awesome lookers and great shavers as well.

Here is another one I took a pic of which is one of my favorites:

I have 4 more razors I sent out, 2 are getting honed, 2 are just for him to play with. I have an old W&B Wedge that I need new scales on, 1 razor in the mail and 1 more being made for a group buy.

I have accumulated several straights over the last 5 months when I started wet shaving, and I currently rotate about 9 of them.  Several others are in various stages of restoration.
It just so happens that my first was one of my least expensive, and my latest the most expensive.  However, they both give me the best shaves.  Funny how that works.

My first is the one on the bottom, a H.M. Christenson, Costa & Sons.  My most recent is the one on the top; an 8/8 Riga Razor.
