I've generally had very good experiences with online vendors and artisans but you really don't know what a vendor/merchant/artisan is about until you have a problem. You know the saying, adversity doesn't mould character, it reveals it.  In any case I had a problem recently with a badger brush I'd ordered from Fendrihan.  It was one of the house brand brushed made for them by Thater.  I already had one of the brushes with different handle and I thought it would be good to have another.  Its a good brush at a good price.  So the brush arrived and it looked fine but when I went to clean it and do a lather with it to start the process of de-funking the brush I noticed a whole bunch of bristles extending beyond the top of the knot.  Ok I thought, its shedding a fair amount.  But no, the bristles weren't loose just long and uneven.  I have more than a few brushes from cheap $10 boars to expensive badgers and I'd never seen this particular phenomenon. I didn't like it either so after sleeping on it I decided to contact Fendrihan's Customer Service and ask about an exchange.  They got back to me very quickly and asked if I could send them pictures of the brush.  I did and they promptly got back to me and said no problem and sent me a pre-paid shipping label to return the brush.  I then asked them if it would be a problem to exchange the brush for a different one (me paying the difference obviously) and again, it was no problem so at the end of the day everyone was happy.  I'm a little surprised that Thater would turn out knots like this even for house branded brushes but I'm still a big fan of Thater brushes

I occasionally read on DFS about member's problems having concerns dealt with by some vendors and I know how frustrating this can be and you learn very quickly that there is just no substitute for top level customer service.  Fortunately such situations are few and far between.

I know, I hadn't either and I really didn't like it. As I said, Fendrihan didn't hesitate for a moment in making sure I was satisfied.

glad they took care of it for you.

I bought my ikon tech from fendrihan a few months back and the service was just fine and the package arrived from Canada a day or two ahead of schedule!

Thats good to hear andrewjs18 , tell me, is that razor as terrifying as its reputation would have us believe? I've looked at it on more than one occasion and thought about buying it but I've always stepped back with the words "most aggressive production razor on earth" ringing in my ears.

it's definitely pretty aggressive, but I've found that it gives me fantastic shaves.

I'll add a +1 for Fendrihan too. I've bought a few things recently, good prices and good service.
