Gentleman - USPS Ground Advantage is really suffering right now.

I know there are a few USPS members here who can maybe chime in.

However, if I were buying something today I would opt for Pirateship.com and UPS Ground or maybe priority mail.

Just be aware that giving the seller 2-3 extra bucks could eliminate a lot of wait time in the cold.

None of my shipments were to California - and I really feel awful about what many are suffering through.  I’m seeing this in the SE, NE and MW.

Yep, they're using weather as delay reason but it's other than that for me. Knoxville, TN, the normal distribution area for me is a Black Hole at the moment. It was slated for closing and got rid of a bunch of equipment and then decided to keep it functioning. Functioning is not really what's happening. I do have a package arriving today from Oklahoma that came thru Nashville thankfully. Frustrating is 2 packages mailed out in limbo, 1 being a sale and 1 being all my go to SE razors on loan and sitting for a week and a half now in delay mode. They were going to a destination @3 hours away from me......That can't be weather related......

Another order I have incoming left NH and went right past me to Dallas, TX........

Because I live in the Chicago area, I still seem to get pretty good service. Chicago is a huge hub for air, rail, and trucking. However, with sub zero F temps headed our way, that is likely to change over the next few days.

Yeah, having major issues here in the Southeast. Package was transferred from UPS to USPS at the USPS center in Palmetto (new regional center near Atlanta). That place is horrendous, either a black hole or they ship it out to places that make no sense. There have been multiple news stories of hundreds of trucks sitting in line there for 48 hours. My package has been in limbo for 9 days and the kicker is the last tracking note references a weather delay at a time when it was sunny and wonderful . I have absolutely no faith in the USPS anymore.

I actually like USPS Ground advantage.  I use Parcels to track my packages all in one place.

For some reason - USPS has been a mess since a week ago with no signs of getting better yet.

and there's more wintery weather coming to the Southeast... and tomorrow is a holiday.... expecting more delays.

I shipped out a handful of packages at the beginning of the week from Los Angeles. A couple of them had a status line in the early stages of delivery (while still in the greater LA area) saying something about regional weather delay, but all of them left LA quickly and were on their way. I just took a quick look and delivery times were as follows:
2 days to NorCal
4 days to Indiana
4 days to Texas
4 days to Illinois
One of them looks to have been waylaid somewhere in Missouri and will arrive after the long weekend.

I use ShipStation, and most of the time when I’m comparing the USPS and UPS options there the UPS option shows something like 8 days when USPS will show 3-5. I know that shipping from the west coast though I’m probably seeing estimated timelines that will differ from others… but knock on wood I’ve been pretty fortunate with delivery times recently.
I do think that giving a buyer an option of Priority for the difference in price is a nice gesture. Priority seems to be upwards of $10 for even a small package now (again, from the west coast heading east) but if there’s only a $2 difference for a little extra peace of mind some buyers might appreciate that.
