I read your mug quickly and missed the Chemtrails one. I had to Google that, as it is literally something I had never heard of. Wow.

I guess I learned something today. Not sure it makes my life better, but I learned, nonetheless. Lol.[Image: 13c3fea20487b75408c1290c297efdb8.jpg]

C'mon Eric. Everyone from one edge of the earth to the other knows that that the moon is made of mouldy cheese, those chemtrails are protecting us from that lunar mould seeping into our atmosphere. Why does nobody acknowledge that in the '70s that 150 year old guy Dannon yogurt used in its advertising was actually mixing his Dannon yogurt with Tang!

Eric, I finally used an Overlander for the first time this morning. You are correct: it is magical.

Isn't it?! A friend and I each have a couple in different metals (well, I have 2 and he has 3!) and we always say after an OL shave, "why do I need anything else?" The answer is that I don't, but it is fun to use all these old and new tools! But when life starts ramping up, as it did last week for us, it is hands down the Overlander, as it makes at least one part of the day enjoyable and a perfect start to facing what's coming!

I have been working with the newer knots that I have added recently, mainly the APSCo Titanium bulb. If lathered like I do most of my synthetics, it seems stiff and like it only wants to paint the lather, whereas I like to splay and work the lather into my whiskers. My typical approach with synthetics is to start mostly dry, with only the tips wet, and load from the puck before moving to my face to build the lather. With the Titanium knot, I tried that approach but built the lather in a bowl, thinking that may help, It didn't do much. So the next morning I soaked the knot and bloomed the puck (it was a puck I hadn't used since last week and I normally don't bloom the puck). I did the "OK" squeeze then loaded. Well, much more pliable to splay and I was very happy. Yesterday, I did the same but without the blook, and even shook the knot after the soak. And it worked out very well again. My hypothesis is that this knot, for me, benefits from a soak. This reminded me of a thread somewhere (here or another place) regarding the G5A knot and how it seemed to need to soak and even seemed to have a break-in period.

Today I used another newer to me knot, the APSCo Independent UHD knot. Without thinking about it, I dropped it into the cup to soak and the lather started just a tad too wet. But it worked out by me having more time to play with the lather building, something I can't do on a work morning unless I get up earlier! Also this morning, I revisited the Gillette Perma-Sharp blade. I once bought a 100-pack of these. It gives a very nice initial shave, but those darn wax dots drive me bonkers! (And I'll say it myself, the drive is often short for me from here to bonkers!!) Also, I used my Steampunk Slim, and had a very enjoyable shave.

Eric, have you tried rinsing the wax dot blades under very hot water for a few seconds? That will generally melt away the wax. I won’t claim to be some zen calm guy but the wax dots don’t bother me. Lots of other does but not that.

Rubbing alcohol will also dissolve some wax dots.
