We could even have a contest as I’ve noticed that there are some vary talented artist - members on DFS. What did the price come to on a per label basis?

It was $7 USD per sheet, six 4" round labels per sheet. Shipping was more than the sheet ($8)!

Zazzle is the website and here is the particular vendor I found.

And just because I found it funny, I share this moment from Doc Martin with you all! Hope the day and week are going better for you than him!

Nickel-plated Overlander head, brass Gladius handle, aluminum OL stand for quite the mix and match
Wizamet SI (3)
APSCo Cashmere in Fluffy Industries 86S custom copper handle
Stirling Sheep

An outstanding 2 pass (WTG & ATG) shave. I have read about these shaves and was forced to go that route this morning prior to an early appointment. It works! But I miss playing with the lather. Sad I will most likely repeat some of this set up tomorrow.

The sharp-eyed reader may have noticed my odd spelling for the month's name. In other parts of the shaving interwebs, there is a thread called "Not open comb" safety razors month, a tongue in cheek thread focused on using safety bar razors.

This morning's shave kit included the 86S Fluffy Industries' personalized brush, Nil by Shannon's Soaps, and the Asylum injector blade razor with a new sChick blade. I have been on the fence about selling this razor, as I jumped too fast on it and it is a tad more aggressive than I like in an injector, my vintage Schick Types G, I, and M having spoiled me. so it will be up on the BST later today. Great razor, just not for me.

And hopefully for me is this new addition that came today, the Heritage Collection Shaving Gibbs replica! Very nice feel and finish to it for an outstanding price point. I hope, being an adjustable, that I can find a sweet spot for my daily shaves.

Also, I am putting a vintage starter kit together that will also appear on the BST. I will price it fairly low, so it will sort of be a PIF that covers postage!

Shave #313 this year.
09 Nov 2022

Heritage Collection Shaving provided most of the hardware, Wizamet SI the rest, and Stirling provided the software!

Set the Gibbs replica on setting 2 this morning, sixth shave with the Wizamet blade, and a luxurious lather from the Stirling Unscented with Beeswax soap. Providing part of the luxury was the cashmere knot in the HCS Star/Kambro replica.  Very nice with on bleeder nick right under my septum. Finally stopped after several styptic pencil applications and now gives the appearance of needing to clean my nose!

The Gibbs has been an interesting trial so far. The first outing seemed rough, so I carefully loosened the pieces and then snugged them to my satisfaction This removed some of the play I noted in the blade tray. Next outing I dialed down to setting 1 for a very close and comfortable shave. Today's shave wasn't any less comfortable and seems a bit closer than the setting 1 shave, as I'd expect. The large gap also didn't seem to bother me today. I am not exactly sure what is changing when the dial is adjusted. The Gibbs doesn't move like a Gillette, and I have no other adjustable DE razors to compare it with. I assume the safety bar is dropping like a Gillette while the tray holds the blade to the top cap. I need to look more closely, but as I say, the gap seems large all the time.

I watched the video Subie Shaves posted on YT. A sturdier spring looks like a nice addition. He recommends the Rex Ambassador spring, which you can buy from Razor Emporium. But the shipping is almost $15 on a $10 spring, making this an expensive upgrade! Just my thoughts, and I don't know if I can find something at the local hardware store.

Well yes, it does feel that way! The only difference today was that the dial was on the HCS Gibbs was turned to N (neutral?), the 3rd position. No drama, very comfortable, and felt so refreshing at the cold-water rinse/splash! I think that loosening everything up, and making sure all was position correctly, then snugging to a smidge past finger-tight really helped this razor. Yeah, not sure what I may have done, but it these last three shaves with it were so much better than the first one. User issue with a new razor? Blade tray alignment issue? Whatever, it works well and I am pleased with it now!
