I get chill bumps everytime I watch a lift off from Cape Canaveral! This video, besides being an awesome Rush song (they were invited to the launch), has some great footage of the events that day. Even if you don't care for Rush music, I encourage you to hit mute and relive the events from that morning of April 12, 1981! Tragedy would strike Columbia on February 1, 2003, but on that April morning, she was glorious!

This morning I used the Vector with a new blade (to me), the Feather Professional. My preferred blade has been the Schick Proline P-30, but I got a couple of partially used cartridges as part of a lot purchase, and I was feeling brave! Turns out, I shouldn't have been afraid at all! What a wonderful shave on the blades first use! I am excited for the rest of the week!

Feather Professional is the only blade I have used in it as I too received them in a lot purchase of a Feather DX. I really like them, but can't compare them to anything else. It will be quite a while before I will need to purchase any blades.

I have tried a variety of AC style blades (and have a few more to try that I bought from TryABlade.com) but I have only used them in AC style barber razors that resemble straight razors. I have never used them in razors like the Vector or razors with similar style handles.

First, for Paul mrdoug :

Now, on to the shave! I opted to switch out the Proline B-20 (I did try to carefully insert it back into the pack) and loaded a fresh sChick blade. Shave was better than yesterday, but still some irritation on my left side burn area. I think I am having a rosacea flare, as there are the typical signs, rather than razor burn signs. So I will use this blade for a bit and then try the B-20 again.

Great news on the medicine front:  In the past 2 years, we have had to fight for months (the first time) and weeks (the second time) to get IVIG treatment approved by Harvard Pilgrim. Both times had to go to an independent review board (with the help of Maine's Bureau of Insurance) and both times were found in our favor. Anticipating a similar fight for August (when the current approval expires), the consultant we worked with last year had us start the prior approval request 1 month early, and she made sure the prescribing doctor's office followed the steps she laid out and she stayed in contact with the office, offering support as needed. Well, as might guess from the hint above, we got the approval without having to appeal or fight! Granted, just 6 mos instead of 1 year like the prior, but it was approved! We hope this bodes well for future PA needs! So yay!

Yea Eric! Congrats. Any win, no matter how small, is still a win. Worst case scenario, you bought yourself 6 months extra to prepare. Hopefully it turns out to be them giving in and agreeing long-term.
