I have been having some wonderful shaves with the Overlander loaded with a Nacet blade. Smooth operator, it is. (me, not so much.) No chasing babies but results that are right there with the baby chasers! By this time of the week, I am usually eying next week and anticipating a change. Not so this week; instead, I found myself considering going another week with the Overlander!

But that is not to be. I am participating in the Twig and Thorn pass around managed by DanLaw (I think this is my first pass around ever!) and USPS shows them out for delivery! So come Monday (or Sunday if I get antsy) I will be trying out these half-blade razors (also new to me, using only half of a DE blade. I hope to keep all my fingers attached when I snap a blade!).

Off to work now. Friday, the beginning of my work weekend. Oh joy.  Rolleyes Nah, it is all good. The price I pay for every other weekend off is working the alternates. And we have a good support staff so it is often a fun time.

Good day to you all!
Snap the blade while it is wrapped. Reach out if you want a video of the procedure

Edit DanLaw beat me to it

My fingers thank you both!

You can also use a pair of old scissors to cut them Eric. Don’t use the wife’s best sewing ones though.

Today's experience with the Twig razor can be found at this location.

Bottom line: I would buy this! But I need to more restraint, so I will use my turn of the pass-around to make a more rational decision!

I know, what the heck, Yoop?!

Alright. I can explain. It all started back in January... [wavy fade out, then fade into a past setting]

Okay, this isn't a movie or show! I am participating in a pass around in another neighborhood. I get to spend some time with the Thorn (left) and Twig (right) razors from Leaf. I have one shave with each so far, and move them on to the next guy Wednesday. At that time I will return to the Overlander from Karve Shaving for the rest of the week.

For the week, Noble Otter Bare will be the soap and the brush will alternate between an AP Shave Co G5C (left) in the Trotter Handcrafts Messier handle and a Manchurian badger (right) in the Trotter Handcrafts Quasar handle.

Have a great week, yous guys!

Minor notes of interest (well, to me they are of interest!  Winking )

Shave #2 with the Twig. Audible is about the same as the last two days with the Thorn, but not taking down as much on the first pass. But this is why we do multiple passes, something about reduction versus elimination on the pass itself. By the end, near glass-like smoothness with no irritation around the chin and mouth corners. However, the maskne bumps from the past 2 days irritation did have a nick. So, not the Twig, but me being too aggressive over the area.

After the shave, I cleaned the razors up for their next stop. I will be buying them after the pass around, but right now think I'll only keep the Twig. I will post this later in the Twig and Thorn Pass Around thread, giving first dibs to any participant that wants the Thorn. I think. I'll wait until after they return to me to make that decision. But I have no problem whatsoever buying both, as the proceeds are going to Dan's belovoded Coco's medical costs. We help where we can for loved ones, be they human or our furry children.

I can see the bottom of the Noble Otter Bare, one quarter (USD!) sized hole, so I may stick with this soap until the tub is clean. I did that with the Ethos and surprisingly enjoyed it more than I thought I would. So I'll do it to the Bare as well.

Been scouring the forums looking for reviews on the Era razor from Blackland. Found a handful here and there. Most like it, some came with issues, most ordered Level 5 plates. I want to read about 2-4, as that is my supposed sweet spot based on the Christopher Bradely razor (of which B is the best for me).

and Happy Twos Day, everyone! Anyone do anything double fun today? (mrdoug is hopefully now recovering and lounging in bed with visions of sugar plums dancing in his head from the anesthetics!) Speedy recovery, Paul!

Nice write-up Eric.  I received my ERA w/ #3 (middle-of-the-road) plate today.  I will post my impressions after spending some time with it.
