Eric, you’ll like Stubble Daddy ’s Manchurian knot. It’s a beauty. I still haven’t mated it to the absolutely gorgeous handle I also got from Paul. All in good time. I’m just over three weeks in on the new hip Santa brought me and darned if I just haven’t been able to focus on that yet !   Big Grin

I’ve never been a fan of hybrid knots. I figure each different type of bristle has its features so why mix them up?

I hope all goes well Eric, or at least better than you seem to expect.

When you get some free time, check out Google's doodle today. It's a nice one, especially for a space fan.

So  Marko , you don't see the point in mixing say, orange juice and vodka (screwdriver) or Jack Daniels and Coke?  Smile
Hope you start getting around better. Took my mom and dad a few weeks to get going again after their replacements.

This morning I let the brush soak as I did the cleaning rituals. It was like a different brush! I don't get it, synthetic hair does not need soaking, but this knot, and its G5A sibling, perform better for me when soaked. Decent splay, great lather generator, and no "bump" feel.

As for the meeting, I survived, but was put on notice. I get where they are coming from, but it is scary to be in the target of their ire. Nuff said! Onward and upwards!

Initial set up for the week
[Image: TOwRl0N.jpg]

From my notes: Put a new sChick blade in the Type J. Shave is maybe a little milder (?) but still getting weepers at mouth corners. I do think it is acne like bumps, either rosacea or maskne. For comparison, I put the Japanese Schick blade into the Type I and will use it tomorrow. The Messier did great with a soak and more water added during the shave. There did seem to be a "bump" when I first started to face lather, but I then dipped the brush and lathered more in the scuttle. This improved the splay and the "bump" disappeard.
