Bit of a change up for the remainder of the week. Yesterday was shave #4 on a Feather DE, and it really made me work to get the stubble removal I wanted. I figured I must need to change out the blade, since I am just goofing around with the single pack I have. Then I saw a post by ewk regarding a 30-day challenge using only injectors in another neighborhood, so I checked it out and was encouraged to join in the fun! The set up for the remainder of the week will be similar to this, but the brush will change.
This combo of the AP mixed hair knot and the FI 86S is wonderful! Look at this lather!
And this is after a pass or two, I forget!
Many thanks to Ken Fluffy for this wonderful handle!
Also, I am reporting my third SR shave (well, my third shave of only my cheeks!). Yesterday and today are days off this week, so not being rushed I am working on honing my shave skills with the Gold Dollar straight from Ken. It was more comfortable doing the shave, and oddly enough, using my right hand on my left side seemed less awkward than using the right hand on the right side! Weird. But no cuts, nicks, or weepers! To borrow from Tim, "life is good!"
Here is the strop set up. I bought a carabiner 3" clamp and realized my shelving in the closet is the perfect height.
This is the beginner's strop from Razor Emporium. And like Matt mentioned, I did nick this twice already and am glad I didn't shell out big money for fancy strop set up! It is two inches wide, so I am doing (or trying to do!) the X pattern and trying to keep the straight on the strop and roll it on its spine. Talk about patting your head and rubbing your tummy! I am not fully coordinated yet!
And here is a "proof" shot that I did use the straight, lol!
Thanks for reading!
