Your premise was incorrectly stated as a problem. Simple logic, really.

Now that is great thinking! Reminds me of my mother-in-law arguing with my father-in-law about how much she saved versus the charges on the card!

I'm sure I've bought a lot, but I refuse to research and find out how much. Lol.

Maybe the problem IS keeping the record! It has been getting tedious entering all the stuff. It was originally started when I started shaving with DEs to track when I got something and when it was used up (like soap and blades). Sooo glad I don't have financial records! I'd probably need to call for an ambulance!

Thanks Mike, I downloaded a sample to my Kindle! 'course buying it makes another purchase this year!

Instead of jumping all in with the S-Word (which in my case would be setting myself up for failure), why not try a month at a time restraint? I've seen it referred to as a GRUME on other neighborhoods.

I'd say just don't shop, but I think posting it out there and having to justify a break from it adds accountability.

I'd probably join in for January and/or February. My bank account would prefer I do all twelve, lol.

And I should make something more clear, the number was additions. I mistakenly said purchases. Still, I did a lot of buying. Loads of knots, lots of SE blades, and single handedly paid for the Trotters year abroad!  

I enjoyed it, and I have enjoyed sharing it with you all virtually. Soon, I hope to share some of my bounty physically. Like Scrooge said to the Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come, “I will honour Christmas in my heart, and try to keep it all the year. I will live in the Past, the Present, and the Future. No pressure, Paul! I was trying to have fun with it and you. But I will glad of your doing a month or two with me! Now, let's make a list of what we need to buy in order to get through the 31 days.

Mike HighSpeed, the sample is really good. I appreciate the recommendation and I will most likely get it. Now is the time of the year for examination of our lives, right? I don't do resolutions well, but I do like taking stock and trying to plan. Maybe that is a resolution. I guess I don't make formal New Years resolutions.
