As I said in the DecemBoar thread: Take that, Monday!
This morning, while rushed to get my wife to the infusion clinic (long day for her, so I pack her a lunch and get stuffy ready for the day for her. Very thankful that the clinic is just 5 minutes away, instead of 25min at the hospital!), I got in a wonderful shave. The TGN boar knot in the Cascadia Line Trotter Handcrafts handle worked very well. I soaked it almost up the handle for a good 10 minutes, then loaded for a minute, and started the lather build in the scuttle. I wasn't too shy adding water (tip dips I call it) and got plenty of great lather for all 3 passes! And the Protouch MG blade, Wow. I tolerated this blade in the Vector but ditched it after 4 shaves. Today in the Hawk v3 it was even smoother than yesterday. Felt like I had a trusted injector to shave with, not a slicing and dicing machine (the Vector). I am very pleased that I decided to try another blade. While it replace the Prolines? No. While the Protouch is smooth, it isn't getting me as close as a Proline does. And in the Hawk, the Proline is perfect, which is why I bought so many. But for a change of pace, the variety is nice.
In spending news, or is it buying new? Whatever, in moments of weakness, or greed, or "I wantsies," I purchased 2 more boar brushes to try! And I have a beautiful Trotter Handcrafts handle that needs a 28mm/30mm knot. I don't know what kind, but I hate having that handle just sit. But I digress. I decided to get an Omega, the Jade from the UK store that I can't spell! And another Semoge, the 1305 painted handle, deep green and white. Saw one posted on the SOTD and, like many of Paul's creations, it just "spoke" to me and I found Maggards had 1 left.
What I have resolved to due is PIF some brushes. Maybe even some razors. I have plenty, and it is the Season of giving. Just need to figure out which ones are duplicated too much for my needs. And if you know someone or maybe want one yourself, PM me and we can talk!
That's all for now. Time for me biweekly telehealth appointment. See you folks later!
