First use of the Vector open comb plate. And it went Smooth! Many thanks to Howlelujah for the chance to purchase the plate and try it out. molon_labe, I think, to my face, it may be easier on it than the solid bar plate, but it is way too soon to tell.

I had read somewhere of some guys holding the handle almost perpendicular to the face (really riding the cap!) and getting great results. I tried that on this maiden voyage and was rewarded with a great shave. I couldn't hold the that shallow angle constant, and when I didn't (going more steep), I did not feel any of the dreaded "teeth" feeling I have come to hate after trying to love the Karve OC plates. One thing I did notice, that I wrote in my log, I don't recall that white knuckle feeling of "careful, or you'll get bitten!" That may just get chalked up to becoming more at ease with the Vector, or it may be due to the shallower angle used today, or it may be the OC plate. More studies needed, but no buyer's remorse!

In alarming news, the 2BED lost 3-4 fibers right off the bat! This happened on the last 2 uses as well, but only 1-2 fibers. I am concerned I may have damaged the knot when I levered it out of the previous handle (Speaking of which, how is the patient, Dave in KY?). So I will keep an eye on the situation. The more I use this knot in the gorgeous maple handle (turned by Stubble Daddy) the more I like it. How are you liking your 2BED, mrdoug and what was the knot size?

Well, off to the dump (excuse me, the transfer station. Why? I guess transferring my rubbish to them sounds better than dump??) and a grocery store run. Yeah, I know, You work in a grocery store. Really, do you have to go back, can't you do it then? I hear it all the time!

Hope you all have a great day! And case anyone feels left out our neglected, here's a shout out to HighSpeed, Fluffy, MilkCrate. Smattayu ! If I missed out anyone, my most sincere apologies!  Angel

The patient is sedated and resting. Transplant organs have been ordered and they are on the way. consultations with professionals have been scheduled and we are waiting for an opening...........................Oh who am I kidding. I'm waiting for the new knot to get here and time to play with it. Big Grin

I continue to hone my skills with the Vector. I liked something Mike HighSpeed shared about keeping some items fixed for 30 days, and so I am keeping the Vector and Schick Proline blade fixed for June, change soaps weekly, and use whatever brush I want to on any given day.

Limiting the variables is always a good idea. It's more difficult if you have a short attention span like me.  Cool

Today I had an intervention:

I need to get my brush dysfunction under control, at least I think that is what was yelled into my ear:

So, I am putting a couple of Trotter Handcrafts handles up on the BST in a couple of days. I will include the knots, although I took them out of the handles.  Before I post on the BST, I thought I'd left the faithful reader know (it's okay, no one will laugh, if you admit this!) first before I officially post them.
The Groovy handle

Then the maple handle:

And the 30mm Maggards Timberwolf. you can see I got some silicone on the base. This knot is going free with the Groovy handle.

And last the Maggards 28mm Black and white, again free, with the maple handle.

Here's the latest addition, from Paul Stubble Daddy. I just love love love this one!

That's a 24mm SynBad fan knot, and I am blown away! This may be as close as I get to declaring a brush to be The One.

I also had another 24mm handle come in. I didn't know which knot I would prefer, between the SynBad and a Cashmere, so I ordered both. Which, of course, meant that I would need 2 handles! So I got this one from Tim Knothead at The Knothead Wood Shop on Etsy.

This one was called Violet/Macro-pearl White swirl. I love the way it came together!

Another great addition, and it works very well for me!
