Thanks, Dave. Now I have to tighten the purse strings again! I really didn't need anything, but I can rationalize a purchase like nobody's business!!

I've never heard of that... What's the difference between an executive and a regular fatboy?

I know Gillette did quite a few variants with their TTOs : Executive, President, Der Kommissar... I believe they mostly were finish quality and case quality differences (?). Any idea if it's the same with the Fatboy's?

Regardless, it looks stunning in its new finish. Congratulations and enjoy!

(is there a mailroom slacker Fatboy? I think their marketing department missed a big opportunity...)

Beautiful razor and shave Eric. That is an Executive Fatboy as seen by the turn to open knob knurling which was different from the regular fatboy. The Executives were I believe always GOLD but as stated , someone had it redone in Rhodium. Here's some info on the Executive.

Thanks, Dave in KY, for posting that link. I love the shiny rhodium look and it will fit right in with my coated Steampunk Slim! The razor came with the BRG card, and it was replated in 2018, I believe. I typically prefer the nickel/silver look to razors, but when I got that NEW long comb from mrdoug and had it replated in gold, man, I can just sit and stare at it! (or maybe I just need coffee to get a move on!) Whatever the reason, it was made and the razor replated in rhodium. And as I said, I just love it. And more importantly, it is a memorial razor in regards to my Dad, and it shaves better than any Fatboy previously used my me. At setting 6, I am getting a very comfy and close shave. I could not be happier with my purchase!

To update on the new job location, in a word, perfect! The staff are genuinely happy that I am there (again!) and the past 2 days went great. Even with the longer shift and higher volume, I don't feel any more worn out today than I did before. Sure it is a little difficult hearing my alarm sound earlier now, and it can be hard making myselt go to bed earlier, but so far it has been worth it. Less than a 10 minute commute. Now what am I going to do about my Audible subscription?! I can listen to 2 songs or a couple of pages of a book. These are the kinds of problems I like, lol.

The store management also seem happy to have me. I had a nice talk with the store manager, and he recalled me from 8 years ago when I helped out another store, and told me he was glad to have me join the pharmacy. Sure it could just be smoke blowing, but it seemed genuine to me!

Shave related, I am thinking of staying vintage for the rest of April, then going Modern in May. We'll see. My vintage gear out numbers my modern, maybe 2 to 1? But the Schicks in March were so much fun, and now the GEMs and Gillettes are saying Pick me, Pick me! And my Blackland gear wants to show them all how it's done, while the Yates is sitting patiently, and just being shiny while reminding me how much I love its shaves. And the Overlander is feeling cool being the king of the hill! And if I listen carefully, my Christopher Bradley is singing quietly the Simple Minds song, "Don't You Forget About Me!" (This all sounds like maybe I need a new med on board, doesn't it?!) (no offense intended, just making fun of myself)

Replated (BRG) pre-War Tech
NOS Personna PtCr (2)
Shannon's with the Donut of Death
apshaveco Ocean Waves with their Titanium knot

The soap and knot will continue the week, as well as the blade, but the razor will change to my Slim, and then maybe a Super Speed for the weekend. Or back to this Tech. Gillette really hit it right with the pre-War Techs, in my opinion. Comfy and close!
