I stopped shaving for about 5 months. During this period, I used to trim my beard at a low setting, clean my face twice per day with a neutral ph cleanser that a dermatologist recommended me( still clean it). Cleaning routine is critical. He also prescribed me a topical antibiotic cream that contained erythromycin. By the way, only a dermatologist knows the ideal therapy for each case. All my life I loved drinking milk. I've stopped drinking milk and consuming any dairy product.

The mild acne issue I had now belongs to the past. It's a bad memory. Thankfully it never came back.

Do you still use shaving soaps with comedogenic listed ingredients?
I don't use soaps that contain almond oil. Other than that, I now have no problem using any soap. I even use my trusty Myrsol Emulsion which contains parabens.

Of course, I've stopped trying and experimenting with new products. Also, I trust more some mass produced products, like Palmolive for example, than all these new artisanal soaps that came out the last couple of years.

Can you tell me what soaps are your favorites?

I’m in the search of the perfect shaving soap for acne prone skin. I’m 30 and lately I'm always getting some acne in the shaving area. I think some comedogenic ingredients present in the vast majority of quality shaving soaps are the culprit because they clog pores. Coconut oil is a good example.

Here are some list of ingredients with comedogenic scale. Seems that people like me needs to stay away from components with a scale from 3 to 5 at least.

I’m thinking about to don’t use all my good soaps anymore and search for the best product for acne prone skin and use it exclusively. I’m really tired of this problem.

In next days probably I’ll be using Speick Active cream and after shave only.

I mailed Michelle at Mystic Water about their Sensitive Skin formula.

My cleaning routine is very good. I clean my face morning and night with a face cleanser. Now I’m starting to use Sebamed Clear Face for acne prone skin. Also bought a Clarisonic Alpha Fit brush.

Did you have some shaving acne problems? How do you solve?

Thanks.
A triple milled soap like MWF would be good as long as you aren't allergic to lanolin. Also keep your razor clean, and sanitize it with rubbing alcohol before you shave. Back when I had acne I shaved with glycerine soaps that I could find in my local stores. This was back in the late 80's and early 90's. Something with Tea Tree oil in it would also probably be good for your skin. My Dermatologist emphasized keeping my razor clean between shaves.

Savon de Volcans( discontinued) and Nuavia.

I really feel that Nuavia helps my skin.

That’s curious. Coconut oil is the second ingredient on Inci in Nuavia. And it’s very comedogenic.

I guess I've no problem with this specific ingredient.
Like I previously said, you really can't know what exactly causes these symptoms. You may think that coconut oil is a cause, but the next week you use the same soap and all is great.

Thanks again friend.

I’ll test some things.

Secretary Ramsey put his foot into it yesterday . . . in the course of his remarks he said that California “needs water and better society.”  “So does h-ll,” yelled someone in the crowd.

There are literally hundreds of researches on this topic. I've talked with many dermatologists, some are friends. Each person is different, we all have a different skin, different daily routine... Figuring out the true cause can be very difficult.

I’ll try to not consume dairy products next month.

Edit: I’ll also leave coffee for a month.
