Shave Sticks

The only decent shave stick holder I have used is the IM.

Large enough to use as a stick or load directly with the brush and a simple, easy to use, push up soap system.

All evidence has been buried. All tapes have been erased.

I believe that stands for Irisch Moos (and, yes, it is spelled correctly). I do not believe the shaving cream is made anymore but don't know about the shave stick, aftershave, etc. It is (was?) made by the same company that produces the Tabac products.

I am not a fan of shave sticks at all.  Hard to lather for me when I attempted it. (I bowl lather almost exclusively.)  Not a whole lot of variety.  They make a gooey mess unless they come in a decent holder.  Some have suggested mashing them into a bowl but, to me, that defeats the purpose.  No thanks.  I'll stick with regular soaps and creams.  For those of you who like them (and I realize I'm probably the only one who has tried them who doesn't care for them), go for it.  They tend to be very reasonably priced and obviously work for many.

What Freddy said... I used a shave stick once hated it, was like melted liquid goo all over... went to get another towel to clean it up and I came back and it was gone off the counter.... literally gone. I had no idea where it went.  I looked for that thing for an hour. Well two hours later when my then yellow lab puppy went outside,  I found where it went.  I've only seen a dog poop bubbles once.... and that was the day.

Yes, Unobtainable for the most part in N/A.  Some eBay guys still sell them in Germany but it ain't cheap.

I have 2 full sticks, 1 partial that I have been using for a couple years for travel (camping, USA road trips), so I'm probably set for a couple decades.

As Freddy said, it's apparently identical base and container as the Tabac.

I added an Erasmic (new tallow formula) and La Toja sticks to my collection recently. Both are excellent, however I like the Erasmic one a tad better having used their shave cream as well.

I got a Palmolive stick last August, in Cologne. It's a fair deal for just 0,75€, but I'd prefer Lea, with his plastic base and lid or tub. Both of them have tallow and ingredients are pretty similar. If could be found proper tub for Valobra or Arko I probably would try them. But I dislike a lot the stick alone. Lea is quite good for travelers and its lather (face, not bowl) fix to the face, in the all style. It's not MWF, but few times you need such amount of foam.
