I have been looking for some Simpsons Lavender & Vetivert Shaving Cream.  So I googled it, and Shave Shop Texas supposedly had some in stock.  But they had a $50 minimum to qualify for free shipping.  So I added 2 items that would be useful, and placed my order.

Then I got an email telling me that they were out of the Simpsons shave cream, and they would be refunding me $25 within 10 days.  And instead of asking me if I wanted to continue with the order (I didn't), they sent me a shipping notice with a tracking number.  I emailed them immediately, asking them to please cancel the order.  It's been 24 hours, and they have not yet responded.

According to my bank records they have my $53, and there has been no refund.  According to the shipping number, a label has been created but it has not been shipped.  I will be going to my bank in a few hours to file a dispute.

Has anyone on this forum had any dealings, positive or negative, with Shave Shack Texas (shaveshacktx.com)?  I'd like to know.

If you do a search you'll find a discussion from 2020 on a shaving site that likes to ban people where some had trouble with orders from them. Not very good customer service but apparently a legitimate site.

I have, and posted about it back in April.

I did get my product, but it was used, with (if my memory serves me) a thick visible post shave foam on the top of the soap tub. They ignored me after my initial contacts and I had to go through PayPal for a refund.

I'm sorry you also ran into an issue with them. Not surprising, though. Not a good company at all, IMO.

According to the tracking number they shipped my 2/3 order yesterday, despite my sending them 3 emails requesting that they cancel the order entirely. I have yet to get a response from them, however my $25 refund is in process. I will probably live with that, since I am running low on Speick AS and can use a new nail file, but I will never do business with them again. I feel like they slammed that order down my throat, despite my asking them 3 times to cancel it. But it is their total lack of communication that seals the deal for me. Never again!

I wouldn’t be surprised if they never had the Simpsons product you wanted in stock.  It’s disappointing when you come across these sorts but also refreshing that they’re few and far between. I stick to the artisans/vendors I know and trust. Mostly. I remember trying to buy a small artisan discontinued aftershave and found one seemingly legitimate vendor in US (I’m in Canada) so I ordered it. I’ve ordered plenty of stuff from the US without a problem but this order got tied up in brokerage agent hell. I never did receive it or get a refund. I have no idea if it was sent back to the vendor or if some dude in a customs brokerage warehouse smells really nice. Last order from that vendor ever.

I like dealing with vendors who have a telephone number to reach a live person in the event of an order issue. One time I ordered a soap from Ariana and Evans. Somehow I accidentally ordered two of the same soap rather than the one I had intended to order. It was my mistake, but I called the telephone number listed to see if I could alter the order. Peter answered the phone personally. He was in Europe at a trade show. He contacted his wife back in the States and had her switch out one of the duplicate soaps for a different scent. That way, no changes to the finances were required. A few days later, I received two different soaps. That is phenomenal customer service.
