Eric should slowly auction them starting at $500 and get his money back. Maybe fund a little of V2 to boot.
Second one that I have seen on Ebay. The first sold for somewhere in the $600's.

I am not sure but he might not have any razor left.
One of my friend was asking to get a returned razor around last year. He had only few left that time.

If he had made razors same as prototypes, it would have gone much higher than $900 in ebay auction.
Hope this auctions will motivate him to bring V2.

I remember Razor Emporium's original project was CNC machined Fatboy; but they went to simpler model (Personna Micrometric), because it was hard to make TTO Adjustable.
Also Rocnel produced few TTO razors, and I remember he said in a forum it was very hard to make TTO razors.
This Janus is TTO adjustable with toggle,
It has 40 pieces, many of them thin-cut. The razor looks fantastic, TTO mechanism works great. It is a great razor.
It is the only razor that I paid $500 and I found the price is very reasonable.

He did a great job, but he did few mistakes what made the project unfavorable.
Basically, he needs higher quality control and He should definitely had a final prototype before the production.

I've said this elsewhere - I believe it to be a future classic.
From an engineering point - its the most advanced razor to be made in the last few years. He did an AWESOME job with it.

It looks like Sledge is selling the razor on eBay on behalf of Eric. He must be close to Eric. Maybe he knows? Maybe @Janus Razors Eric will drop in with an update?

This makes sense as he was one of Janus's biggest fans...

Up to USD $1,200.  In there with the most recent Wolfman bids - not bad for a reported failure.... Rolleyes

Failure is subjective. It certainly didn't live up to the hype. Not for me anyway.

Not having a dog in the hunt, and just speculating, supporters and users of the AS-D2 and the R41 love their machines - not so with some - but far ends of the aggressiveness spectrum.  The main issue with the (new) toggle seems to be the limited range of adjustability with regard to aggressiveness (aggressive to beyond the pale).  Maybe a CNC tweak here and there (oversimplified) would put it back in the general market, since there seems to be a distinct increase in what users are willing to pay for a high end razor, reportedly the Janus ballpark, and somewhat demonstrated by the price of the Taigas, Rocnels, Wolfman (Wolfmen?) et al, and recent auctions.  My grandfather would have thought $10 for a razor was insane.  Tongue
