ceramic to retain heat, wide enough to prevent the brush handle from clanging against the side.  Nice resting spot for the brush between passes. Looks good too.

This has gotta be my favorite. Found at a flea market a few years back,  looks great with tarnish,  unbreakable. All great qualities.  I drop bowls about once a year and glass ones didn't fare well.[Image: KtX4ZkT.jpeg]

Timeless Razor makes a very inexpensive plastic bowl with a textured bottom and high walls that keep the lather in. I also very much enjoy Captain's Choice bowls.
