Look forward to your thoughts on the Proline Scott. To be fair, I to have great shaves with all the AC style blades, with excellent blade life on my Kai blades. Still prefer the Feather Pro because of the feel it provides. But the Proline is pretty darn good. I think you will be pleasantly surprised by the quality of shave they provide.

The DLC Hawk is a great razor. But I prefer the more blade forward feel of the Rx. The Hawk is smooth and efficient with just a tad more blade feel than the Brass General. But the Brass General somehow is just a bit more efficient and smoother than the SS DLC Hawk. I can shave everyday with the Hawk, Brass General or the Rx. But it's the Rx first, the Brass General, then the DLC Hawk in that order for me.

Thanks to all who have contributed to this thread. I plan on buying the razor over the weekend, so I suppose that gives me one last chance to ask everyone:

How are sentiments toward this razor now, any update?

It is the only AC SE razor in my collection. And it is one of the most beautiful razors I ever owned. When I decide to use it as a daily driver, I use guarded blades, but when I have at least 36hour growth my go-to-blade is Feather Pro.

I enjoyed it and used it as a daily driver with the Kai pinks and Schick Prolines, but once the SS DLC Hawk came along, I have not looked back. The Stainless Steel Hawk is so good that I don't use anything else anymore.

Wow the Hawk is a much more affordable razor in comparison as well. Something to be said for value sometimes.

Gus, I’ve been giving the Prolines a fair shake, but I can’t seem to master them in the RX. I used a fresh one this morning in my RX, and got my very first shaving “cut,” as opposed to weeper or irritation. Oh, and I also got a couple of weepers and mucho irritation. I know, it was my first shave with the blade, after using a Kai Pink Mild for a couple of weeks, so it wasn’t a fair fight. The last time I used the Proline in the RX, I had better experiences for a dozen or so shaves, but not near as nice as Kai Milds. I think I’ll save the Proline for the ATT SE2, Mongoose and Alumigoose.

P.S. I’m looking again this weekend for that elusive Schick G injector.

Good hunting my friend. Did you probably get a dud on the Proline blade? A shame that it hasn't worked out as well for you in the RX.  Pretty much every blade I've used in the RX has given me top notch results. Some may be a bit smoother and forgiving, such as the Kai ProTouch MG blades and I have had good success with the Prolines. My fav though is the Feather Pro. Just an excellent blade that gives me the best combo in efficiency, blade feel and smoothness. The Super is good, just not as smooth and forgiving. Gives the fiercest shave of all that I have tried. For anyone grabbing an RX, I've always recommended using a guarded blade in it first to get the feel for it, then go from there. Overall, it is a sublime razor that is at the top of the heap for me in an SE razor. You know that I've never met an aggressive razor that I've said no too. It's just a pleasure to use. I don't know if I've mentioned it to you before, but I own 4 SE's in the AC razor format. The RX, Brass Gen., Ikon El Jefe and the RazoRock SS DLC. The El Jefe is the closest to the RX in terms of efficiency, depending on how you align the blade in the stops. It can be even more aggressive than the RX. The General is the smoothest of the 4, especially paired with a Super. I can shave with it daily and be happy. The RR DLC, while good and efficient not in the same tier as the first three. But, that's just me on how I shave and what I look for in a razor. May your shaves be glorious and plentiful my friend. Later....
