Semogue 610...I'm struggling

Palm lather the brush, but then leave the soap in it and don't rinse it out. Leave it on the counter to dry overnight. Rinse it out the next day and then let it air dry. Repeat that process about 20 times and it should be good to go. I just used my other brushes while breaking in my semouge 830 and 620.

I don't recommend leaving lather in a brush overnight and don't think it helps the brush but has potential to hurt it.

Bottom line is just use it and it will break in and get softer. No fancy tricks needed.

That is what I have done with all of my boars.

UPDATE:

I've had a complete turn around with this brush this week. My notes show that last Friday 1/15/16 was the last day of poor performance. That was the 21st shave with the brush and my notes say, "lather was terrible! Too thin and not enough product for more than one pass".
On the very next day my notes say, "lather was Awesome! Super thick, slick, and enough lather for way more than three passes. Brush is finally working".
Every shave since has been excellent. I can't believe how quickly it just made a 180 and started performing. I did hand lather a few times to try soaps that I received in the mail; but, for the most part it took exactly 3 weeks of shaves and then turned into a completely different experience. Now it holds way more lather than I will ever need, it's always felt great but it's getting even better, and it does not seem to devour soap like it did when new. At least now it turns the devoured soap into lather!
I probably prefer my synthetics more because they make less mess and I think that they are way more efficient with the amount of product they use. I seem to like the shorter loft and more backbone of the 610. I'll enjoy rotating them now.

Really? Huh, I've done that with all of my boar brushes. Don't think I did any damage that I'm aware of.
