So I'm not sure which blade is more comfortable Captain or Mild.
I've had a few 1 and 2 day shaves with each either blade is a close shaver in the right situation.

First shave with a Feather Proguard this morning and I was a bit let down on the smoothness.
I had hoped this blade was much smoother than the shave.
Let's try the Proguard in the Vector again tomorrow with high hopes still.

Another shave with the Feather Proguard this morning.
My soap and appreciate was changed over to Grooming Department  this morning.
I had more comfortable shave than yesterday's but I wasn't as rushed.

Pretty efficient shave but I sure felt like I had enough shaving on my difficult jawline so I quit.

Kind of interesting how a guy develops knowing when to quit chasing the close shave during a shave.

Not a whole lot of analysis just trying to find The Sweet spot between efficiency and comfort.

Morning shave was with the Feather Proguard blade again.
Fairly close shave without tons of going back over and buffing.
Not the most comfortable shave for me but the Grooming Department Mallard soap sure helped. Pretty close shave but not the closest all over and definitely on my difficult area, right side below the jawline.

Feather Professional blade used this morning. Probably more blade feel if I had a blade-feel-o-meter I'd know for sure.
This blade pulled in deeper toward the skin and just got down into the whiskers more it does seem.
I don't think the shave was any closer just a different feel to it.
Because of the feel I probably did less swiping on the difficult areas thus no closer of a shave. I was a little bit conflicted over the results, I was expecting a different outcome.
The GD Mallard Soap put up a nice counter defense against the Professional.
The more I use Mallard base the more I fall into formation with the other ducks in our flock of users.
My Rudy Vey STF Is getting a beat down on the bowl but still not soft enough for my liking.
Not quite the pillow of clouds or however Eric MaineYooper  described his 30 mm Synbad brush.

Mallard an amazing base; favorite GD of the current bases

Another shave with the Vector and Feather Professional Blade.
That was another pretty good whisker hacking session.
I don't think anybody out in public would say oh it looks like you left someone under your right jawline this morning!
I can feel it left whiskers some and took skin in the meantime.
These blades will give me a couple of small leakers and I know how.
I go over an area several  times to bring the tough old synthetic testosterone laden whiskers down.
Probably going to be on to the next blade soon, I think I've still got a Schick.

One thing I've noticed with my Ti Vector is that when I use a very shallow angle (almost riding the cap, handle up and out away from my face), it gives me a smoother shave. When I combine that with very light pressure, then, even though I still have to pay attention, it's much closer to where I want it to be for my skin and whiskers.

I think they shave better with that shallow angle too. What blade do you like most?

I’m still trying to figure that out. (I’ve actually been hoping you would tell me, in this thread.)  Big Grin

It’s always had more blade feel for me than I would like. But it’s so light, easy to hold, and maneuverable that I want to make it work if I can.

If you look at Shane’s face (the owner of Blackland), his whiskers look much denser and thicker than mine. It may feel totally different to him than it does to me. But it has such a good reputation that I’m going to try a few different blades again, using my more cushiony, slicker soaps, a shallower angle, and little pressure.

I will report back to this thread about which is my favorite blade of the four or five I have to use with it, and how close I can get it to what I’m hoping it will be.
